Andros island is, by far, the largest island in the Bahamas, covering an area of 2300 square miles, nicknamed 'The Big Yard'. It is located only 30 miles to the west of New Providence and most of it is unexplored territory. The island has a lot of useless area, because of the marsh's located in the center of the island. Andros island supplies a large region of the Bahamas with fresh water, that is shipped to the other islands via boat.

Despite all of that Andros is one of the best places in the Bahamas to go fishing. Off the coast line of Andros is the Barrier Reef, second to only the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, and the waters surrounding this island can reach depths of up to 6000 feet. There are many place of this island for great game fish, Grouper, Snapper and many others. Andros Is also the 'Bone fish capital of the world', where many come from far away to Bone fish here.
