Bimini is the closest Island in the Bahamas to the United States. It is located just 60 miles east of Miami and is comprised of two separate islands, North
and South Bimini. These islands originally became popular during the 1930's when the islands were used as a base for the rum runners. The lost island of Atlantis is supposed to be located just north of
this island, and a road can be seen from the air on days that the ocean is calm, but researchers are still trying to confirm if the myth is really true. Now, Bimini is known mostly for its great
fishing. Many boats from around the world go to Bimini for many annunal fishing tournaments. There are also some very nice beaches on this island and you can find some great hotel
